Y-CAP is an early intervention and prevention program for at-risk youth ages 10-15 who have been referred either through the juvenile court system or the school system. The program provides personalized treatment plans that address students’ educational, behavioral, and spiritual needs through mentoring, tutoring, hot meals, family nights, and group therapy.
Mayor Kelly’s One Chattanooga Relief and Recovery Plan included a $300,000 investment to support Y-CAP’s expansion to Brainerd.
Since the new location opened, 25 new students and their families have enrolled off of the program’s waiting list. Y-CAP now has a total of four locations in Chattanooga, which serve 100 students per day from neighborhoods across the city.
