Describe Your Role In The Organization | As the President of the Alton Park Development Corporation (APDC), a 501C-3 Non Profit Organization, my role is to implement the aims, goals and the missions of APDC. As a community partner, I am responsible for creating programs that help reduce crime, provide education in finance, job training, recreational and community outreach for citizens of Hamilton County. I also oversee our Radio Station WPTP-100.1FM Radio Station, our Dental Mercy Clinic and Community Thrift Store. We have a 40,000 square ft. building and 8 acres of land that I oversee. I oversee the budget and administrative duties that include managing the budget and allocating funds that cover the expenses associated with running the organization. |

Please Describe Your Project In Detail | Community Restore - Our Project will involve creating a space at our facility to provide education and resources to help prevent the spread of COVID 19 and offer screenings and vaccinations. Community residents will be able to come and get resources, screening, and vaccinations by a trained healthcare provider. Hours of Operation Friday Saturday 8am-8pm Sunday 2pm-8pm EST. Adults will also be able to utilize the Computer Center to search for job opportunities, file COVID related disability and unemployment claims to get additional support for COVID Related illnesses A COVID Specialist will be on site to assist those needing support or help for medical or psychological help Our Radio Station is FCC Approved and is currently participating in COVID related infomercials, seminars and symposiums and we will continue to deliver information pertaining to vaccinations and COVID information and we will continue to broadcast live on the air remotely to cover seminars and symposiums being held locally and in the surrounding area. We have programs currently with our partnerships with local churches and therapists to provide mental counseling for PTSD related to COVID and we have TEAM SURVIVAL Community Outreach Courses taught by local community leaders, former and current members of law enforcement to help the youth and young adults deal with and cope with depression that often lead to suicide, homicide and or/self destruction. Once our application is approved we will be able to affect a larger demographic. |
Please explain how your project meets the requirements of the American Rescue Plan | #1. We are providing services that directly support COVID related services involving the public sector. Those services include: medical support, screening, testing, mental support for individuals suffering with PTSD associated with COVID utilizing experts in the medical profession #2 Our programs will reduce violent crimes utilizing members of law enforcement, community leaders and Pastors in Our TEAM SURVIVAL Community Outreach Programs #3. Our FCC approved Radio Station is already addressing the economic impact of COVID through our info commercials, airing live symposiums and seminars hosted by local organizations to educate engage and empower the community to take action to prevent COVID and how to get help mentally financially and spiritually. #4. By providing resources and support for individuals to find employment or assistance to apply for federal resources on site we can streamline confusion |

What milestones would you use to measure your project’s progress? | We would like see 50%- 70% of the population in our depressed communities utilize our services(namely Alton Park, Piney Woods, Eastlake, East Chattanooga, Avondale, Bushtown, Westside Community, Eastdale) Data providing residence zip codes will be used to show the number of individuals screened, vaccinated, enrolled in the TEAM SURVIVAL PROJECT, and other services we provide to help residents with COVID related issues and to reduce violent crimes |
How would you ensure accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle? | A monthly report will include: 1. expenditures will be documented and properly recorded by the administration book keeper 2. usage of each services will be document with the name and address of each individual 3. Radio promotions and other public announcements will be aired and documented. Any public symposiums/seminars/ that WPTP will cover remotely will be aired lived and recorded. Pictures/videos will help document activities |
If successful, how would your project benefit the community? | The success of this project will raise the awareness of COVID related illnesses and provide resources for those affected by COVID to get help. The success of this program will reduce violent crimes, provide emotional support and spiritual support with the use of counselors and ministers provide the resources and medical experts for individuals to get help, |
How will you attract community buy-in for your project? | We will use TV and radio promotions print and social media, we will partner with neighborhood associations, we will host block parties door-to door campaigns to get the word out in vulnerable neighborhoods. partnerships with local churches and Neighborhood Associations., Elected Officials and other organizations is crucial and will be used. Support from the local police department, and sheriff department will give the program more support their resources will also be beneficial. |
