Please Describe Your Project In Detail | My project consist of training and certifying school personnel, faith based communities and the general community in Adult, Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid. Mental Health First Aid is a public education and prevention tool. It improves the public’s knowledge in mental health and substance use challenges and connects people with care for there mental health and substance use challenges. Similar to First Aid and CPR, Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to any person developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis until professional treatment is obtained or the crisis resolves. |
Please explain how your project meets the requirements of the American Rescue Plan | The need for Mental Health First Aid training has increased rapidly since the pandemic. There are more than 3 million people trained in Mental Health First Aid across the globe. Our research and evaluation studies show that this program works. Although the percentage of people struggling with mental health and substance use challenges since the pandemic has increased, our program is still a thriving and proven to make a difference in the lives of people. We believe our program meets the requirements to help reduce depression, anxiety, substance use and reduce crime as well. We are ready to help and serve the community |
