Please Describe Your Project In DetailMindset Rehab Coaching provides the education needed for individuals to cultivate and maintain a healthy mindset. This has been especially important during the pandemic. I have made it a point to share with groups and individuals alike about how healing from grief helps to maintain this positive mindset which in turn allows for positive outcomes in everyday life even in a pandemic. Sharing valuable information on how to recognize signs of grief, childhood trauma that can be triggering in adulthood during isolation periods, tips on daily maintenance of a healthy mindset for you and/or loved ones, etc. This is done via multiple social media platforms through daily postings as well as workshops. Bringing this education through social media platforms and virtual workshops makes it accessible to underserved communities. I am currently looking to secure a spot on a local radio station so that the message can be shared with more people outside of those that see me on social media platforms.
Please explain how your project meets the requirements of the American Rescue PlanIt is providing education on mental health and pointing people in the right direction for what a healthy mindset and life look like. Understanding this, helps individuals perform at their best at work, within their families, because they are educated them and the message becomes one that is transparently discussed which yields more positive results and they are able to continue being productive citizens in the community.

How much will your project cost in total?100
Do you have any matching funding sources from other local governments, private entities, non-profits, or philanthropic entities for your project? No
Please describe the source and list amounts of any other funding.
What portion of the project are you asking the city to fund?
If funded, when would your project start?February 1, 2022
How long would your project take to complete?Ongoing
What milestones would you use to measure your project’s progress?Testimonials from workshop attendees and surveys.
How would you ensure accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle?Everything done would be open to the public and there would be open sessions for community members and leaders to ask questions. Blogs would be written to share the work that is being done to assist our community with their mental health.
If successful, how would your project benefit the community?Bringing education to communities where they wouldn't normally have it either through bi-monthly workshops at rec centers or virtual space. I believe healing starts with education. One cannot health from which he/she doesn't understand.
How will you attract community buy-in for your project?Sharing the benefits of being well mentally and showing how understanding simple truths can shed light on how to help loved ones who may be experiencing difficulties and sharing how it can and has helped others.
Is there anything else you would like us to know about your project?I believe that underserved inner-city communities could really benefit from getting this education. Bringing it directly to them will eliminate excuses of transportation, resources. It is my desire to help educate as many people as possible in order to stop this mental health epidemic that is ravishing our underserved communities. This can also help bring down the numbers of suicide, homicide, as well as other crimes that are rooted in a lack of understanding on what is going on with an individual and how to be of help to them.
